Style Edit: Cosy and Bright
We don’t know about you, but it’s hard to believe that we’re half way through January already – it feels like so much has happened since the New Year – we’ve been on double speed! From photo shoots to dropping our new Spring/Summer 2019 Collection, there’s been a lot to get organised for and excited about!
While you may be thinking that it is far too early to release our collection for Spring/Summer, after all – there is still a chill in the air – we thought that there was no better time than now to introduce bright, bold, and colourful accessories into your wardrobes and onto your outfits! It may be dark and grey – but that doesn’t mean to say that your style should be!
At Powder, colour is everything! Why make a statement if it’s not going to be a bold one? That is why we have paired together some of our favourite items from Autumn/Winter 2018, with our newer Spring/Summer 2019 Collection! It’s amazing how well each of the items go together – keeping you cosy and stylish, while still bold and bright!
Is there ever a better colour than yellow to help bring an extra bit of cheer into your mornings? It was one of the first colours that the team spotted when Lisa revealed her design for the Peony Printed Scarf! When styling this particular outfit, as we loved it so much, we took it one step further and aimed to match each of the colours that were featured in the Peony Printed Scarf with either items of clothing or other various Powder accessories!
The Lizzy Wool Gloves in Raspberry, for example, are colour matched perfectly with our models wool jumper and the shapes within the scarf! As they’re made with 80% wool, they’re ideal for keeping your hands nice and warm – while still complimenting the outfit!
We even finished off the whole look with a pair of our Ladies Bardot Sunglasses - as you never know when the next rays of sunshine will trickle down through the trees!
We wonder what pair of socks she has stashed in our beautiful Powder paisley bag! If it were my guess, I would say the Ballet Pug Ankle Socks in a beautiful shade of fuchsia and yellow! Perfect for finishing off this whole look and keeping your feet feeling soft and stylish!
LOVELY IN LAVENDER
Layering up is one of our favourite things to do – so much so that sometimes it feels like a competition! Throw on your trusted thermals and a cosy knit jumper and you’re good to go! For our second look, we kept all of the colours differently similar! The Astrid Hat in Teal provides the perfect starting point, quickly followed by our Cockatoo Satin Square – the rich tones of damson, teal and candy-pink coming though!
We also though that this look would lend itself perfectly to our beautiful Summer Floral Print Bag, the inspiration for which Lisa talks us through in her previous blog! It’s the perfect companion for brightening up your outfit while your at home, or for keeping all your summer reads, suncream and water in during travels further afield!
Tying the whole look together, we also matched our Alexandra Wool Gloves in the coral mix, as well as our Samantha Sunglasses - because you never know when you're going to need either - one minute it could be blissful sunshine, the next a chilly breeze!
We simply adore our Chrysanthemum Printed Scarf; it is perhaps one of the easiest scarves to wear – especially for a more subtle, but still colourful, option! We’ve paired it with a gorgeous damson coloured jacket as well as our Monica Wool Gloves in Charcoal – the small berry detail of the cuff highlighting the fuchsia tones of the Printed Scarf!
Like all of our Printed Scarves, it's not until you take a closer look that you're able to fully appreciate the whole design. The damson background for the Chrysanthemum Print helps to make the moss, candy and fuchsia tones really pop out and catch your eye!
PRETTY IN PINK
Sometimes you have to try something new in order to see how it works; most people would’ve been rather unsure about pairing a pale pink coat with our Summer Floral Printed Scarf in Turquoise – however, rather than being overwhelmingly different – the two items are able to compliment themselves simultaneously.
Keeping hands nice and cosy in our Berry Rebecca Arm Warmers, and eyes protected and looking cool in our Adele Sunglasses, the whole outfit is able to come together! So much so, that we think this is our favourite look of this blog!
Which of the four looks have been your favourites? Would you pair a hat with a different scarf? Perhaps change a pair of sunglasses? Keep the accessories the same but change everything else? We would love to hear your thoughts! Don't forget to let us know how you style your #powderuk accessories by entering our monthly #photocompetition!
